Hi, I’m Maria! Welcome to Fluffy, a private studio in the heart of Fishtown, Philadelphia. Where the vibe is Grandma’s house in the 70s, super chill and a little fluffy. I think good haircuts come from good communication. Before we cut anything, I want to understand how you wear your hair, what frustrates you about it, and how much time you actually want to spend styling it. My philosophy is simple: brush your hair and keep it moisturized. It sounds basic, but most people have never been taught how to properly care for their hair. During your appointment, I’ll show you the techniques, tools, and habits that make the biggest difference. I specialize in creating haircuts that complement your features, suit your proportions, and work with your natural texture. I believe everyone has movement in their hair, and through razor cutting, I help bring it to life. The magic is in the cut. Once the shape is right, styling becomes easy. I’ll teach you how to work with your hair using your hands, not an arsenal of tools and products. After your appointment, I’ll send you an aftercare email with the products we talked about, how to use them, and discount links when available. There’s no pressure to buy products in the studio or remember everything we covered during your visit. Because I do be yappin. I regularly train in New York City and have spent the past six years studying with my mentor, Jane Matthews. Continuing education keeps me inspired, curious, and always refining my craft. At Fluffy, you’ll find thoughtfully chosen, non-toxic products from small and women-owned businesses that I know and trust personally. My goal is to understand your hair as it naturally exists: how it moves, where your cowlicks live, and how we can make your routine simpler, with fewer products and less effort. It’s not a cult.
